Monday vs Tuesday

What a difference a day makes!  Monday the sun was shining.  Monday you could smell Spring in the air.  Monday I was busily running errands and getting ready for the birthday party of sweet and caring newly 9 year old girl.  Tuesday the sun was nowhere to be found.  Tuesday the forecast was calling for more snow and below zero temps (again).  Tuesday I was fighting a migraine and getting ready to attend the funeral of a friend gone too soon who left behind a wife and two precious girls.

It’s not hard to want everyday to be like Monday.  It’s easy to hate days like Tuesday.  God is easy to see on days like Monday, but where is He on days like Tuesday?  Psalm 73:25-26 says; Whom have I in heaven but you?  And earth has nothing I desire besides you.  My flesh and my heart my fail but God is the strength of my life and my portion forever.   My flesh and my heart definitely fail on days like Tuesday.

While I was driving all over the place on Monday the song “Came to my Rescue” started playing.  I love this song! It has always been one of my favorites.   You can listen to the song here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWPABE3gycs .  But on this day it was different, it was like the words were meant just for me.  Then on Tuesday, while I was telling my husband about the funeral and how much I didn’t understand God sometimes, something in my heart remembered the day before.  And it hit me; that quiet moment I had (in my van of all places) was still in my heart.   Even though I was having trouble finding the joy and seeing Him on Tuesday, He was still there!  All I had to do was remember Monday!
